To start the financing process, ATP recommends that you first apply with SLM Financial for $40,000 towards tuition. Depending on the your approval status, additional funding options through SLM and other lenders may become available. You can apply for financing with no obligation to accept a loan or start your flight training with ATP.
SLM Financial has developed a custom financing program for ATP students. This program is available because of ATP students’ excellent track record of completing training and achieving success with airline and corporate pilot jobs. Deferred payment options allow you to make no payments until 18 months after starting training, allowing you to first begin earning income in your new career.

Before you start the application, locate the following information:
For the Borrower (Student)
- Documentable Gross Annual Income & Source
- Documentable Other Income Amount & Source
- Mortgage Holder's Name & Phone Number
- Monthly Mortgage or Rent Payment
- Approximate Mortgage Balance
- Approximate Home Value
- Name of a Personal Reference (Other than your co-borrower. Relatives are ok.)
- Reference's Address & Phone Number
