Flight Training
ATP has been the leader in multi-engine training for over 23 years. ATP's quality instruction speaks for itself; we are the only training company that has you flying as PIC nationwide, in an airline-style environment, in $500,000 aircraft. This nationwide flying requires a level of currency, proficiency, and standardization that defines ATP's excellence in multi-engine flight training.
ATP conducts flights using FAA-standard cockpit resource management and crew-concept techniques. True nationwide cross-country flying in high-density traffic areas requires these techniques to meet the work load requirement of checklists, ATC communication, flight routing and weather.
All cross-country flights are operated in an FAR 121 airline-style environment. Flights will be scheduled to selected ATP Training Centers nationwide and will be conducted with flight releases from licensed Flight Dispatchers to assist with weather, routing, and performance reviews.
With ATP, you obtain your Commercial license and 3 CFI ratings in 90 days, allowing you to start earning income in your new career faster than you could by attending any other school or academy. Run the math. Within 90 days you could be getting paid to build the necessary flight time for the regionals.

Self-Paced Curriculum
Anticipate an additional 10-20 days of required availability due to a non-consecutive time frame for Stages 1 thru 4. Stage 5, the CFI portion of the program, will require 10-14 consecutive days at an ATP CFI Training Center in Atlanta, Dallas, Jacksonville, or Las Vegas. ATP provides housing and transportation to the CFI Training Center during Stage 5.
Specific to the Self-Paced Curriculum
Commit approximately 10 days per month to accomplish the Airline Career Pilot Program.
With the 10-Month Self-Paced Airline Career Pilot Program, you can train in ATP's renowned aircraft with first class instruction, while maintaining your professional career, continuing college, and devoting time to your family.
The Airline Career Pilot Program provides a thorough understanding of airline operational procedures, crew resource management, GPS navigation and approaches, and nationwide cross-country experience.
Training Schedule
You will coordinate your training schedule with your flight instructor and ATP's flight dispatch. You will need to dedicate approximately 10 days per month to accomplish the program.
You may accelerate your training pace and complete the program in less than 10 months.
Cross-Country Flying
During the cross-country phase of the Airline Career Pilot Program, you will typically fly trips to locations about 350 NM from the base training center. You may have an opportunity to fly coast-to-coast cross-country flights if your schedule permits approximately 10 consecutive days to make the trip out and back, and allow for weather contingencies. All ATP flights nationwide are dispatched and monitored around-the-clock by licensed Flight Dispatchers.
Instructor Certificates
ATP’s CFI Program is managed and taught by some of the most qualified pilots and instructors in the country. Below is an excerpt from NAFI regarding our Training Manager who also conducts most of the CFI Initial programs in Jacksonville:
The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) takes pride in announcing a significant aviation accomplishment on the part of Walter S Schamel, a training manager for Airline Transport Professionals and a resident of Winter Haven, FL. Recently, Walt's designation as a Master CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor) was renewed by NAFI, his professional aviation organization. To help put this achievement in its proper perspective, there are approximately 81,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than three hundred of them have achieved that distinction thus far. The last seven national Flight Instructors of the Year were Master CFIs while Walt is one of only 38 Florida aviation educators to earn this prestigious “Master” title.
